Antofagasta is the capital of the province of Antofagasta and regional capital of the Region of Antofagasta in northern Chile.
The city is located in the 1377km north of Santiago. According to the national census, Antofagasta is the fifth most populous city with 285,255 inhabitants. It is one of the largest ports in the desert region, which allows export to the world from the copper mines of Chuquicamata and La Escondida.
The beaches are vast and varied attractions of the city. Among the highlights are Juan López, Santa María island, Mejillones and Hornitos unique resort, a paradise for relaxation and rest.
The other concern is the home. This is a beautiful natural stone arch which is within the ocean and that nature was responsible for carving perfectly. Declared "Natural Monument".
